Missouri Man Awarded $670,000 in On-the-Job Driving Injury
A Missouri jury has awarded $670,000 to a former UPS driver has been awarded $670,000 after he was rear-ended by a garbage truck and suffered a back injury.
According to court documents in Jeremy Smith v. Deffenbaugh Industries Inc., Smith was making a delivery at a bank when an employee of Deffenbaugh Industries rear-ended him. The driver admitted he was not paying attention to the road at the time of the crash.
Smith had a herniated disc, but was unable to lift the 70 pounds required by his UPS job.
