Lawsuit: Dick’s Sporting Goods Didn’t Pay Nebraska Workers Overtime

Dick’s Sporting Goods faces a federal lawsuit alleging its Nebraska employees weren’t justly paid for their work.

Dannette Stackhouse says in her lawsuit that employees were forced to work through breaks, were unpaid for overtime and were sometimes locked in the store until work was finished, all in violation of state law.

Stackhouse worked in the sporting goods retailer’s Papillion location. Her lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Omaha on behalf of roughly 900 Dick’s workers in Nebraska, seeks class-action status and monetary compensation.

Bill Colombo, a spokesman with Pittsburgh-based Dick’s, says the company doesn’t comment on pending litigation.

Dick’s says it has more than 420 stores in 41 states, including three in Nebraska.
