93-Year-Old North Dakota Driver with No License or Insurance Fined
A judge has ordered a 93-year-old Oberon, N.D., woman to pay $375 in fines for driving with a suspended license and without insurance.
Faith Mitzel was ticketed last August when she was driving east of Devils Lake. She was in court Nov. 30.
Ramsey County prosecutor Lonnie Olson said Mitzel is a dangerous driver and deserves 60 days in jail. Last May, she was accused of killing one motorcyclist and seriously injuring another when her car crossed the center line south of Devils Lake. She was never charged in that accident.
Mitzel says she doesn’t have anything to drive except a lawnmower, but Olson says she owns several vehicles.
Judge Donovan Foughty told Mitzel she could end up in jail if she drives again without passing a driving test.
