Oil Field Company in North Dakota Destroyed by Fire
An oil field service company in Minot has been destroyed by fire.
No injuries were reported in the blaze at Folter Energy late on Dec. 8.
Minot Rural Fire Chief Rex Weltikol told KCJB radio that the building was engulfed when firefighters arrived about 10:15 p.m. He said authorities believe the fire started in a truck inside the building that was filled with about 1,000 gallons of diesel fuel, and that propane tanks inside the structure added to the blaze.
Weltikol said the tanks did not explode but instead vented the gas as they were designed to do.
A damage estimate was not immediately determined.
