40 Cattle Killed, 2 Barns Burned in Iowa Farm Fire
A fire at a Dubuque County, Iowa, farm has destroyed two barns and killed 40 head of cattle. Damage is estimated at $500,000.
The sheriff’s office says the barns at Duane Kass’ farm were fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived about 1:40 a.m. on Feb. 12.
The sheriff’s office says that includes the loss of the barns and cattle, as well as various farm and milking equipment, hay and corn.
The cause of the fire was not released.
