Illinois Workers’ Comp Commissioner Named; Arbitrators Reassigned

The Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission reported that Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn appointed Thomas J. Tyrrell as a commissioner. After completing a training program, Tyrrell will serve as the labor member on Panel A. Commissioner Mason will move to Panel B.

The IWCC also announced that workers’ compensation arbitrators John Dibble and Jennifer Teague have been placed on administrative leave.

Arbitrator Doug Holland will handle arbitrator Dibble’s Whittington/Herrin call. Arbitrator Andy Nalefski will handle arbitrator Teague’s Belleville call.

The Illinois workers’ compensation system has been under scrutiny after a newspaper reported an arbitrator tried to link the settlement of her own personal claim with the scheduling of a separate workers’ comp case pending before her.
