20 Horses Die in Ohio Barn Fire
A fire official says about 20 horses have died in a barn fire in suburban Cincinnati.
Capt. Steve Conn of the Colerain Township fire department says some 15 other horses were rescued from the fire on April 5.
Conn told The Cincinnati Enquirer a veterinarian had to euthanize one horse that was severely burned.
He said fire crews had to lay down a fire hose about 2,500 feet from the nearest hydrant to the barn. The barn was in flames when firefighters arrived and some of it collapsed.
Fire officials said the barn is on a horse breeding farm. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
