Fire Damages 5 Buildings in Wisconsin
Fire has destroyed three buildings and damaged two others in downtown Cassville. Twelve people lost their apartment homes and possessions in the fire which broke out about 3 a.m. Tuesday.
Grant County Emergency Management spokeswoman Julie Loeffelholz says the fire apparently started in one of the apartments. A café in the center of town is among the businesses destroyed or damaged.
WISC-TV says fire departments from five communities helped battle the blaze. The American Red Cross is assisting people displaced by the fire find temporary shelter.
The fire comes at a time when the community is also dealing with spring flooding.
