North Dakota Couple Charged with Insurance Fraud
A Bismarck couple has been charged in Burleigh County District Court with insurance fraud, a Class C felony, according to the North Dakota Insurance Commissioner’s office.
Ella Denise Bowen-Davis and Gary Lynn Bowen were involved in a vehicle collision March 28, 2011 in which they collided with each other.
Mr. Bowen and Mrs. Bowen-Davis gave multiple conflicting stories of how the collision happened.
In the end, they stated that the cause of the collision was that the accelerator on Mrs. Bowen-Davis’ car had gotten stuck just before she rear-ended Mr. Bowen’s vehicle.
The Insurance Department’s fraud unit investigated the claim and is alleging that the collision was an intentional act.
