Nebraska County Declares Disaster After Storm
Dodge County officials have issued a disaster declaration for a storm that hit Fremont last week.
Region 5/6 emergency manager Bill Pook told the Fremont Tribune that preliminary assessments put damage to public property from the June 20 storm at $280,000. An updated assessment is expected later this week. The storm brought a tornado, high winds and heavy rains.
Pook says the declaration was issued Friday afternoon and is on its way to the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency. NEMA will decide whether to send it on to its federal counterpart.
