North Dakota Restaurant Fire Causes Moderate Damage
An Italian restaurant in Bismarck has suffered minor damage in a fire.
The Bismarck Tribune reports that firefighters called to DiDonna’s on Wednesday afternoon found flames coming out of the roof and heavy smoke coming out the back.
Bismarck Fire Battalion Chief Rob Carlson says firefighters had to force their way in because the building was locked, but they quickly extinguished the blaze in the kitchen area.
Owner Nancy DiDonna says the restaurant closes from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. during the summer.
Carlson says the blaze appears to have started in the ceiling above the kitchen. He says he expects the restaurant to be out of business for a short period of time.
