2 Teens Charged with Arson in Iowa Fire
Two teenagers who came forward at the behest of their parents have been arrested, accused of starting a fire that damaged a trailer and storage building and equipment at the Council Bluffs school district stadium.
Police say one boy has already been released to his parents. The other, older teenager was arrested and taken to Southwest Iowa Juvenile Detention Center. The boys’ names have not been released.
Council Bluffs Police detective Jon Clark says one of the boys’ parents found some clues at their home after reading a story about the Aug. 14 blaze. Clark says the woman called a parent of the other boy, and the teens soon talked to police.
The school district estimated the damage at more than $100,000.
