Ohio Grand Jury Charges Group with Equipment Theft
An Ohio grand jury has indicted an alleged theft ring with stealing trucks, trailers, lawnmowers and construction equipment across the state.
Delaware County Prosecutor Carol O’Brien reports that five men and two women have been charged with crimes ranging from theft to engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity.
O’Brien says the Columbus Police, Ohio State Highway Patrol and Delaware County Sheriff’s Office tracked the theft ring over several years in central Ohio.
The Columbus Dispatch reports that the group allegedly stole more than $650,000 worth of vehicles and heavy equipment in Delaware, Franklin, Licking, Knox, Fairfield, Marion and Huron counties.
O’Brien says the stolen equipment was sold on Craigslist.
