North Dakota Man Files Civil Lawsuit Over Rifle Injury
A Grafton, N.D., man says a gun manufacturer is liable for injuries he suffered when a rifle discharged while he was reaching to unload it.
Jared Schueller has filed a civil lawsuit against Remington Arms Co., LLC, and Sporting Goods Properties, Inc.
Schueller says he grabbed the muzzle of the bolt action rifle off the floorboard of a pickup truck when it unexpectedly fired. He says the bullet went through his hand and leg.
The lawsuit claims the rifle was sold in a “defective and unreasonably dangerous condition.” Schueller is seeking unspecified damages.
Representatives for the defendants were not immediately available for comment.
