Ohio Arboretum Fire Ruled Accidental
Investigators have determined that a fire started by accident ripped through a maintenance building and destroyed several vehicles at a northeast Ohio arboretum.
Authorities have not commented further on what caused Monday night’s fire at the Holden Arboretum in Kirtland, about 20 miles east of Cleveland.
At least $500,000 damage was done. Multiple news outlets report that there were no injuries.
The fire was discovered by an arboretum police officer who was making rounds when he heard popping and cracking sounds coming from the maintenance facility.
