Wisconsin Counties Declared Disasters
Lincoln and Marathon counties, in Wisconsin, have received federal disaster designations for crop losses caused by rain storms in September.
Gov. Scott Walker said Tuesday that the federal Agriculture Department had approved the state’s request for the designation.
Additionally, Clark, Langlade, Oneida, Portage, Price, Shawano, Taylor, Waupaca, and Wood counties were designated as contiguous disaster counties.
The declaration makes farmers eligible for federal assistance through the Farm Service Agency. Those affected have eight months to apply for emergency loans.
