North Dakota Ranked Second Least Expensive Auto Insurance Premiums in the Country
According to Insurance Commissioner Adam Hamm, North Dakotans are paying the second lowest auto insurance premiums in the nation. This is according to the “Auto Insurance Database Report 2008/2009,” recently released by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.
“While other costs go up, North Dakota’s auto insurance premiums continue to hold steady and the market remains very competitive,” Hamm said. “This is good news for our state’s insurance consumers.”
North Dakota’s 2009 combined average auto insurance premium of $650 is significantly lower than the national average of $901. According to the report, Iowa is the least expensive state, followed by North Dakota and South Dakota. Louisiana, the District of Columbia and New Jersey rank as the most expensive locations for auto insurance. Combined coverage is the total cost of liability, collision and comprehensive coverage for a vehicle.
51. Iowa ($631)
50. North Dakota ($650)
49. South Dakota ($651)
1. Louisiana ($1,270)
2. District of Columbia ($1,265)
3. New Jersey ($1,218)
