Worker Suffers Minor Injury in North Dakota Apartment Fire
A construction worker has suffered a minor injury at a Grand Forks apartment fire.
KVLY television reports that fire crews were called to an apartment building near the Grand Forks Library at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Construction crews had been working on a third-floor corner apartment when the fire started. One of those workers suffered a minor burn to his hand trying to get the fire out before the fire department was called.
Building residents who were evacuated were able to return to their apartments.
Mike Sandry of the Grand Forks Fire Department says the blaze was contained to one apartment and was spreading into second unit when crews got it knocked down.
Authorities estimate the fire caused $100,000 worth of property damage.
Sandry says the fire is under investigation.
