Picking Up Fallen Nebraska Trees May Take a Month
Lincoln, Neb., officials guess that it might take the city a month to pick up all the fallen tree limbs that succumbed to last weekend’s heavy, wet snow.
In the initial cleanup officials are focused on removing tree limbs from all the major streets around Lincoln. Then officials will go back to clean up branches from residential streets.
Community forester Bob Weyhrich tells KOLN-TV that he expects the cleanup to take about 30 days.
The trees fell victim to the storm that dropped nearly a foot of wet snow on Lincoln.
The fallen trees contributed to power outages around Lincoln. At one point, roughly 10,000 Lincoln Electric System customers lost power.
