FEMA Grants Illinois First Responders $1.1M
Six fire departments in Illinois will share $1.1 million in federal funds to improve their abilities to respond quickly to fires and other emergencies.
The money is from the Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.
Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., says the grant will help the agencies get the best tools available to do their jobs.
This round of funding will benefit fire departments in Cicero, Eureka-Goodfield, Gurnee, Mundelein, Prophetstown and Wauconda.
