Burst Pipe Damages Indiana University Building
A substantial amount of water leaked from a burst pipe on the fourth floor of an Indiana University building before workers were able to shut it off.
The pipe broke Monday in a section of Jordan Hall that has been undergoing renovations. The Herald-Times reports the leak set off the building’s fire alarms, prompting students and workers inside in on the Bloomington campus to leave.
Campus officials say the extent of the damage was being assessed after crews worked to remove the excess water that ran down stairways.
Jordan Hall opened in 1955 and houses IU’s biology department offices and numerous laboratories.
