Kansas Recycling Center Fire Does $1.5M Damage
Investigators are trying to determine what caused a two-alarm fire at a recycling plant in Kansas City, Kan.
The fire early Wednesday at the Deffenbaugh Recycling Co. plant did an estimated $1.5 million in damage.
Fire department spokesman Craig Duke says the fire occurred in a steel building that was a sorting and processing center at the plant. Crews had to use heavy equipment to cut a path through the material so firefighters could get to fire.
No injuries were reported.
