1 Hurt as Beams Fall in Minnesota Building Zone
Building inspectors in Eden Prairie, Minn., are trying to determine what caused steel beams to come crashing down at the construction site of a sports facility.
Assistant Fire Chief Tom Schmitz says one man suffered injuries that were not life-threatening when the beams collapsed Saturday. KMSP-TV reports the man had to be extricated from the damage, but was conscious.
WCCO-AM reports that 10 steel beams were about 50 feet high, framing the stadium. But one beam gave way, then they came tumbling down like dominos.
Six workers were there at the time.
