Minnesota Company Recalls Cantaloupe Packages
A Minnesota company is voluntarily recalling packaged fruit products containing cantaloupes because of a possible health risk.
Cut Fruit Express Inc. of Inver Grove Heights says the packages contain cantaloupe which has been recalled by supplier DFI Marketing Inc., due to potential salmonella contamination.
The packages were distributed through Sept. 5 and sold in Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
Cut Fruit Express says it’s voluntarily recalling the packages as a precaution. No illnesses have been reported.
Salmonella bacteria can cause diarrhea, nausea, fever and abdominal cramps.
Customers who may have bought the product are advised not to eat it. Instead, they should dispose of it immediately or return it to where they bought it for credit.
