Smoking in Bed Causes Nebraska Hotel Fire
Omaha, Neb., fire officials say a fire at a hotel over the weekend was caused by a guest who fell asleep while smoking in bed.
About 100 people were forced out of the Econo Lodge early Saturday. The fire was contained to the guest’s room. There were two people in the room, and both got out safely. No other injuries were reported.
Investigators estimate the damage at $15,000.
