Man Dies in Cave-In at Indiana Road Construction Site
Police say a man working at a northern Indiana highway construction site was killed when a hillside gave way and buried him.
The Carroll County Sheriff’s Department says 30-year-old Arthur Kerns died in Friday afternoon’s collapse, which occurred just north of Delphi as workers were building an overpass that will span the new Hoosier Heartland Corridor.
The Journal & Courier reports Kerns was employed by T.J. Lambrecht Construction.
Carroll County coroner Jay Dee Cree says an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of Kern’s death. The investigation is ongoing at the accident site near a rural intersection along existing Indiana 25 about 70 miles northwest of Indianapolis.
