2 Ohio Workers Killed in Crane Accident
Authorities in northeast Ohio said federal workplace safety inspectors will investigate an accident that killed two workers.
The two men were killed Saturday while working for an excavating contractor at a steel plant site in Perry Township, near Canton. The Canton Repository reported that they were dead at the scene after a crane boom fell on them Saturday afternoon.
They were doing work at the Timken Co.’s Faircrest Steel Plant. Timken says construction work was suspended, and the company suspended its steel-making operations at the plant until Monday.
The company said the accident has been reported to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
