Illinois Zoo Reopens After Storm Damage
The Henson Robinson Zoo in Springfield, Ill., is back open after a storm blew down branches and trees and damaged at least two exhibits.
The (Springfield) State Journal-Register reports crews have been working to repair the damage after Monday’s severe weather.
No animals or people were injured.
The zoo’s exhibits with animals from Australia, as well as one featuring African wild dogs, received the most damage. The facility’s perimeter fence was also damaged and needed to be repaired.
The 13-acre zoo is home to several hundred animals.
