North Dakota City Reports Rise in Traffic Accidents in 2014
The most recent statistics from the Williston Police Department show traffic accidents have increased in the city compared to 2013.
The Williston Herald reports police logged 148 accidents in February, up from 124 a year before.
Police say 50 hit-and-run incidents and 59 accidents involving private property took place in February. One person was killed and nine people were injured.
Lt. Mark Blitz says vehicle damage has been estimated at $549,000.
The newspaper reports the department issued 125 citations and arrested eight people on suspicion of driving under the influence.
