Metal Thieves Likely Started Ohio Warehouse Fire
Fire investigators in southwest Ohio believe scrappers stealing metal are to blame for a warehouse fire in early January.
Springfield Fire Marshal Brian Miller says they believe the scrappers were using a blowtorch that sparked the fire at the warehouse that held thousands of wooden pallets.
He says the official cause of the Jan. 6 fire is being listed undetermined. But he tells media outlets that interviews dozens of witnesses and evidence at the scene leads him to believe the metal thieves caused the fire.
