MetLife Auto & Home in Alliance with Home Depot
MetLife Auto & Home and The Home Depot announce that they will be joining forces to provide repair materials and installation services for MetLife Auto & Home customers. This enhanced service will be available nationally to customers reporting insurance claims that involve home repairs.
The program will begin with a focus on flooring replacement, with Home Depot providing materials and installation for a wide variety of products. MetLife Auto & Home insurance adjusters will be able to refer customers to the resources of Home Depot’s more than 1,530 U.S. stores. Customers will still have the option of choosing between the Home Depot service or choosing their own contractor.
“This program with Home Depot is a great fit for MetLife Auto & Home, because it represents a strategic alliance between two strong brands that are committed to providing world-class customer service,” said Bill Mullaney, MetLife Auto & Home’s senior vice president of claims and customer service, based in Warwick, R.I. “Joining forces will benefit MetLife Auto & Home’s customers, offering them the option of having their repair work conveniently handled at the time of a claim by a retailer known for offering first-rate, quality products and outstanding service.”
“There is tremendous value in this for both parties, and we are pleased to be working with MetLife Auto & Home to enhance its customer service capabilities,” said Joe Izganics, Home Depot’s president of Services. “It’s another example of Home Depot growing by extending its business to meet new opportunities.”
MetLife Auto & Home and Home Depot will also be exploring potential benefits for MetLife Auto & Home customers who purchase certain loss mitigation or safety products through Home Depot, including items like emergency shut off valves, burst-proof washing machine hoses, and smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
“More and more insurance companies these days are focusing on safety and loss prevention,” said Mullaney. “If this alliance can encourage people to improve the safety level of their property, everyone wins. It can positively impact efficiencies in our claim operations, provide customers with greater peace of mind, and even possibly save a few properties–and lives.”
MetLife Auto & Home is a brand of Metropolitan Property and Casualty Insurance Company and its affiliates, Warwick, RI.
