Telstar Products Recalls Light Bulbs
Telstar Products said Tuesday that it is recalling about 317,000 energy-saving light bulbs that can overheat and cause a fire.
There have been two reports of fires, including a residential house fire and a fire contained to a light fixture.
The Chinese-made bulbs were sold under the Telstar and Electra brand names in two styles: spiral and three-“U” shaped in 20 and 23 watts.
They were sold at discount stores in New York and New Jersey from August 2010 until March for $1 and $1.50.
Consumers should stop using the bulbs and return them to where they were bought for a refund.
