Texas Tops List of Heavy Equipment Thefts
The 2010 Heavy Equipment National Theft Report recorded 13,374 theft reports, according to the National Equipment Register (NER) and the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB). Just 19% percent of the heavy equipment stolen was recovered.
The top five states with the most incidents of heavy equipment theft:
1) Texas
2) Florida
3) North Carolina
4) Georgia
5) South Carolina
Those states accounted for 43 percent of total equipment theft.
