More than 1,800 Thomas Built Buses Recalled
The High Point Enterprise reported that the recall involves clamps on engines supplied for the buses by Cummins Inc.
Parent company Daimler Trucks North America said Monday it initiated a safety recall campaign and has reported to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration.
Daimler says a bolt included in the clamp assembly may break when it’s subjected to stress.
The federal agency says the recall involves three series of Thomas Built school buses manufactured from Sept. 1 through Dec. 31 of last year. The recall affects buses equipped with either of two models of Cummins engines.
