National Glass Exchange to Offer Fully Underwritten Windshield Protection Plans
The AmTrust Group of insurance carriers and its sister company, Warrantech, will now be supporting the National Glass Exchange’s (NGE) Windshield Protection Plans.
Through the agreement, AmTrust will provide the underwriting of NGE’s products, and Warrantech will manage claims administration for the programs.
NGE’s windshield protection products moves beyond the TPA model of simply outsourcing claims; insurers can now control risk and loss by offering customers a separate Windshield Protection Plan for auto glass repair and replacement.
AmTrust is an underwriter of warranty programs across many sectors, including automotive specialty risk coverage.
Over the past year, the companies have been working together to secure regulatory compliance in all states. NGE plans to introduce its product portfolio in the second half of 2012. Windshield Protection Plans will initially be sold through insurance carriers and auto dealers.
