Founders Promotes Nielsen to Commercial Claims Vice President
Nielsen’s responsibilities include leading a unit of claims managers and analysts, providing guidance and direction in working with commercial policyholders to resolve liability claims against their businesses. He will lead the development of coverage and claim handling protocols to enhance operational efficiency within the commercial unit.
Nielsen is filling a leadership role which will better position Founders for expansion of its surplus lines business into new product lines.
He joined Founders in August 2011 as a commercial claims manager, bringing to the position extensive experience in the legal and insurance industries. He served as an associate, senior associate and then partner with respected insurance coverage law firms, later working in the Excess Casualty unit of Zurich Insurance Company before joining Founders.
Nielsen earned a bachelor’s degree in Business from the Northern Illinois University College of Business in DeKalb, IL, and a Juris Doctorate, magna cum laude, from the Southern Illinois University School of Law in Carbondale, IL.
