Wells Fargo Insurance Announces New International Specialty Group
To better meet the global needs of its customers, Wells Fargo Insurance, part of Wells Fargo & Company, is expanding its international specialty group by establishing three new teams solely dedicated to serving the insurance and risk management needs of U.S. multinational companies.
Based in Atlanta, New York City, and San Francisco, the International Specialty Group will lead the design, placement, and implementation of compliant risk and benefit programs for businesses operating globally. The group will also manage Wells Fargo Insurance’s existing global network of in-country brokers from more than 130 countries, including the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific.
“At Wells Fargo, our customers’ needs drive the business. We listened to our multinational customers and expanded the group based on the qualities they said were most important: program management, oversight, accountability, and consistent excellent service,” said Ken Fraser, co-head of National Practices and Special Risk at Wells Fargo Insurance and head of the International Specialty Group.
The International Specialty Group teams will provide risk management, commercial insurance, and employee benefits services to multinational customers throughout the U.S. Wells Fargo Insurance appointed the following executives to lead the San Francisco and Atlanta teams, and is expected to announce the New York team lead later this year.
Shalini Ati, based in San Francisco, was most recently vice president for Wells Fargo Insurance’s international practice team serving multinational customers in the Northwest, including the Bay Area. Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Ati specialized in international risk management at Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. and Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.
John Scales, based in Atlanta, recently joined Wells Fargo from ACE Group where he was senior vice president and manager of their Foreign Casualty Alternative Distribution unit. A 25-year industry veteran, Scales’ background includes underwriting experience at AIG and Continental Insurance, as well as previous international practice leader at Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc.
In addition, Shawn Burnsworth, 7-year company veteran, was named head of Wells Fargo’s Insurance’s global broker network and International & Network Management practice leader. He was most recently an international practice leader for the Wells Fargo Global Broker Network, and was a Client Service Manager with Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. prior to joining Wells Fargo.
“With our coast-to-coast International Specialty teams, extensive international network coverage, and development of an advanced technology platform, we can provide multinational customers the direct and on-the-ground support they need to manage risk and take advantage of international opportunities. Wells Fargo is committed to supporting our customers globally, including serving their worldwide risk and insurance needs,” Fraser continued.
