HomeCare Connect Names Ivan Castro Medical Director
Ivan D. Castro, MD has become the medical director of HomeCare Connect, a national workers’ compensation company focused exclusively on managing the quality and cost of home health, durable medical equipment and supplies.
“Dr. Castro’s extensive experience in wellness and workplace injuries will help ensure that employees with complex or catastrophic injuries receive the most appropriate, high-quality care,” said HomeCare Connect’s CEO Teresa Williams, MSW, LCSW.
Board certified in internal medicine, Dr. Castro brings more than 20 years of clinical and administrative experience to the position. As medical director, he provides critical oversight of care delivered to injured workers and advises HomeCare Connect’s clinical staff on best practices in home health nursing, medical equipment and supplies. Dr. Castro also works directly with treating physicians as needed to obtain the best medical outcomes for the injured worker.
Dr. Castro earned his medical degree at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria, Ill. and conducted his undergraduate work at Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H. He did his residency in internal medicine at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Santa Clara, Calif. Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Castro has been in private practice in Florida for the past 20 years, and continues to see patients at Private Health MD, PA in Winter Park, Fla.
