Vaisala Partners With Weather Fusion on STRIKEnet Lightning Verification Products
Vaisala announced it has partnered with Weather Fusion to be the exclusive provider of its STRIKEnet Lightning Verification reports and lightning services to the U.S. insurance industry.
The transition from Vaisala to Weather Fusion as the point of sale for STRIKEnet will occur over the next few months, with completion expected by early Q2 2014.
“Our selection of Weather Fusion as the sole distributor of STRIKEnet to the U.S. insurance industry is driven by our mutual customers’ desire to integrate multiple weather solutions directly into their claims and underwriting workflows, “ said Richard Pyle, Director of New Weather Markets at Vaisala.
“Weather Fusion is honored to partner with Vaisala and excited to bring our customers the best available lightning data,” said Donald Giuliano, CEO of Weather Fusion. “We look forward to helping our customers quickly adjust lightning claims and identify lightning-related risk using delivery mechanisms that integrate directly into their existing business workflows”. Giuliano further added, “We are fortunate to have personnel on our staff who have over 20 years of experience providing lightning information into the Insurance industry. This history enhances our synergies with Vaisala’s STRIKEnet offering and will help us better serve customers seeking to use lightning data, including at first notice of loss (FNOL) and during the underwriting process.”
STRIKEnet Lightning Verification Reports were launched in 1992 as the first address-specific weather claim verification report available for use in the insurance claim process. STRIKEnet remains the lightning verification gold-standard for insurance carriers, fire investigators, and independent adjusters who need to quickly and accurately evaluate lightning claims.
