Wolters Kluwer Governance, Risk & Compliance, a provider of governance, risk and compliance products to legal and financial professionals, appointed Jonah Paransky to the position of executive vice president and general manager of its ELM Solutions business, which provides enterprise software solutions that facilitate workflow and collaboration across the legal community – connecting corporate legal departments and insurance claims organizations to their trusted law firm partners.
Paransky brings nearly twenty years of experience in B2B software general management, product management and marketing, with a proven record of accomplishment in bringing new products to market. He has held several senior leadership roles with LexisNexis, including vice president and managing director, Product Management of their Business of Law Software Solutions and Managed Technology Services group. Paransky was most recently the CEO of SkyTouch Technology, a Software as a Service (SaaS) provider of property management systems for hotels, where he led the development of the firm’s comprehensive market, business and sales strategies.
Kentucky’s deputy commissioner of the Department of Insurance, a former sales and marketing representative, has been appointed as commissioner of the department.
Nancy G. Atkins worked in the insurance industry for 33 years, both as an agent and employee benefit manager. Before joining the Department of Insurance, she was director of sales and marketing at Bluegrass Family Health Inc.
Atkins is a licensed nurse and also worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kentucky and Advantage Care, Inc.
Former Commissioner Brian Maynard is returning to the private sector.
Tenn.-based Alternative Service Concepts (ASC), a national third party claims administrator (TPA), promoted Vickie Hampton to assistant vice president. Hampton is responsible for managing multiple workers’ compensation and property & casualty claim offices, partnering with several key clients and driving quality and performance through best claim practices. She joined ASC in 2003.
Allianz Group’s specialist corporate insurer Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) announced several personnel appointments within the Cyber, Engineering and Programs lines of business.
Jenny Soubra has been appointed head of Cyber and Specialty PI (CPI) for the United States. Tim Cook is the new head of Engineering, North America and Tobel Thomas has been promoted to West Zone Programs team leader. For his new role, Cook will relocate from London to New York and both Soubra and Thomas will be based in San Francisco.
Utilizing nearly 20 years of financial lines underwriting experience, Soubra will set the strategy for and lead a team of U.S. underwriters focused on cyber and specialty errors and omissions risks. Most recently, Soubra was the National Practice leader for the CPI team and prior to AGCS, she held a variety of senior underwriting positions with Zurich, CNA, and ACE Group.
As head of Engineering, Cook will be responsible for partnering with brokers to drive new opportunities and growth in this space. Cook joined Allianz over 17 years ago and has filled multiple roles within the organization. Prior to this appointment, he served as head of Engineering for Regional Unit London since 2012. Cook began his career as a claims broker for Sedgwick International and then gained further experience working for a variety of organizations, including Cigna and Assurance General de France in London.
As the team leader of Programs in the West Zone, Thomas will be responsible for developing and implementing growth strategies. At AGCS, programs business is defined as groups of similar clients in search of differentiated products and services. He will also lead a team of experienced underwriters in generating profitable new and renewal business. Tobel joins AGCS from Samsung Fire & Marine where he established and built the Northwest business. Prior to this, he served as Middle Market Sales underwriter for The Hartford, specializing in Multi-line Package and Workers Compensation Production Underwriter for Technology, Life Science and Renewable Energy accounts.
