Business News: Coverys, CargoNet, Novarica
Coverys, a medical professional liability insurance provider, announced investment in two separate organizations, Knowledge Diffusion, Inc. (Osmosis) and Pack Health, LLC (Pack Health). Both organizations provide innovative resources that help improve patient outcomes and support provider performance.
Osmosis is a medical and health education technology company with headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland. It has an audience of more than 500,000 current and future clinicians between its advanced learning platform (www.osmosis.org) and popular YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/osmosis). Osmosis leverages its video learning platform to create and disseminate co-branded video content that is visually appealing, clear, and concise. It also has a strong partnership with Wikipedia, which features Osmosis content on health and medicine articles. To date, Osmosis has focused on medical students but is quickly gaining traction with a number of other critical healthcare provider segments including nursing, physician assistants, pharmacy, dentistry and others.
Pack Health, headquartered in Birmingham, Ala., offers chronic care management in partnership with payers, providers, employers, professional associations and medical education organizations. Pack Health’s digital coaching platform provides a technology-driven, human-centric engagement to patients in over 20 chronic conditions. It supports patients’ access to care and also helps them develop self-management skills which are designed to improve their own well-being.
With the investments in Osmosis and Pack Health, Coverys continues to execute on its vertical strategy to discover solutions that complement and align with its core business of offering medical professional liability insurance protection to healthcare providers, hospitals, and health systems across the nation.
CargoNet, a Verisk business that focuses on cargo theft recovery, intelligence and analytics, and 7PSolutions (7P), a global provider of GPS supply chain management tools, jointly announced they will work together to aid mutual clients in reducing cargo theft and recovering stolen cargo.
This alliance will benefit the two organizations’ customers by providing access to a layered approach to reducing cargo theft risk. The combination of 7P’s real-time GPS technology with CargoNet’s 24/7/365 recovery support center, expansive law enforcement communication platform, and cargo theft data can significantly increase the likelihood of recovery after a theft.
Novarica, a research and advisory firm that helps more than 100 insurers make better decisions about technology projects and strategy, has formed an alliance with The IoT Insurance Observatory (IoTinsObs), a global insurance think tank focused on telematics and the Internet of Things.
Novarica and the IoTinsObs are collaborating on the profitable adoption of telematics and IoT in the North American insurance industry, combining their joint expertise in market, operational, and technology issues related to leveraging these new technologies.
