Texas Mutual Names New Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President of Policyholder Services
Texas Mutual Insurance Company, a workers’ compensation insurance provider, announced Jeanette Ward as the company’s new chief operating officer (COO) and Kim Haugaard as the company’s new senior vice president of policyholder services—the role previously filled by Ward. As COO, Ward will oversee the company’s policyholder services, underwriting, information technology, digital innovation and solutions, and marketing and customer engagement areas. In his new role, Haugaard is responsible for claim operations, network operations, safety services, and the information services center.
Haugaard joined Texas Mutual in 2004 and was responsible for overseeing the development of the first medical network in the Texas workers’ compensation system, as well as overseeing the recent implementation of WorkWell, TX.
Haugaard also managed the company’s medical cost containment strategies along with numerous claim training, process, and system initiatives.
Chahine Appointed AXA Partners Chief Executive Officer
Gilbert Chahine has been appointed chief executive officer of AXA Partners, the entity of the AXA Group Innovation Business Unit dedicated to designing global insurance and assistance services solutions; to deploying them via the entities of the AXA Group and for business partners via third party distribution.
The appointment will be effective on June 1, 2018.
Before joining AXA Partners, Gilbert Chahine contributed to launching AXA’s business in Egypt, where he was appointed chief executive officer in 2016.
CNA Appoints Former State Farm Exec as Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer
CNA appointed Garrett Williams senior vice president and chief compliance officer. In this role, Williams is responsible for the overall strategic leadership and direction of CNA’s Enterprise Compliance Group. He reports to Scott Weber, executive vice president and general counsel.
Williams joined CNA after 20 years of service to State Farm in varying counsel roles. Most recently, he served as leader of State Farm’s Enterprise Compliance and Ethics department, AML/OFAC officer and chief privacy officer and was responsible for partnering with State Farm’s chief information security officer to establish comprehensive information security and privacy governance.
Williams earned a Juris Doctor from Washington University’s School of Law. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and holds several compliance and ethics designations.
