Former Broadspire Exec Joins MedRisk as Executive Vice President of Business Development
Penn.-based MedRisk named Kenneth Martino, CPCU executive vice president of Business Development. His responsibilities include identifying and evaluating business development opportunities both domestically and internationally, including analyzing competitive and market trends, developing and managing strategic partnerships, acquisition identification and integration and organic growth strategies.
Martino brings over 35 years of experience in workers’ compensation and managed care to the position. He is the former president and CEO of Broadspire Services, Inc. He started his career with Travelers Insurance Company in management positions within systems, underwriting, claims, and managed care. Martino also spent time at The Hartford as part of its third-party administrator, Specialty Risk Services, where he served as senior vice president of Account Management and chief financial officer before joining Broadspire.
PURE Announces Executive Promotions
The PURE Group of Insurance Companies, which includes Privilege Underwriters Reciprocal Exchange, the policyholder-owned property and casualty insurer designed for high net worth individuals and families, announced two new executive appointments: Michael Taylor has been promoted to chief claims officer and Jason Metzger has been promoted to head of Risk Management. They will both join the company’s Executive Committee, reporting directly to president and chief executive officer Ross Buchmueller.
Taylor joined PURE in 2016 as deputy claims officer, bringing with him more than 30 years of insurance industry experience, including executive roles at AIG and CNA. He began his career at Allstate Insurance.
Metzger joined PURE in 2013 following a decade at Progressive, where he served in multiple leadership roles. During his tenure at PURE, he has overseen broker distribution and led business development for the New York Metro Region in a general management role.
Monica Ningen appointed President & CEO of Swiss Re Canada
Monica Ningen has been appointed president & CEO of Swiss Re Canada & English Caribbean, effective 1 July 2018. She succeeds Veronica Scotti, who has been named chairperson Global Partnerships.
Ningen has more than 20 years of experience in the re/insurance industry, starting her career at E.W. Blanch, a reinsurance broker. She joined Swiss Re in 2006 when Swiss Re acquired GE Insurance Solutions. Since that time, she has held several leadership roles in Property Underwriting, most recently as head of Property Underwriting US & Canada.
She will be based in Toronto and plans to relocate there with her family in early August.
Veronica Scotti joined Swiss Re in 1999 as part of the Fox Pitt Kelton acquisition. Prior to her role in Canada, she held several leadership positions in Client Markets. She will relocate to Zurich with her family in early August.
