IFG Companies Taps Former Zurich Claims Leader for SVP, Chief Claim Officer Position
IFG Companies announced the addition of John W. Mahoney as senior vice president and chief claim officer. He will be located in IFG’s Hartford office, and will report to Manuel (Manny) Almagro, chief financial officer and will be responsible for managing IFG’s nationwide claims organization while serving as a member of the Company’s overall Senior Leadership Team.
Mahoney comes to IFG with over 20 years of demonstrated success in a variety of claim leadership roles. He began his career practicing law in the litigation practice of Hebb & Gitlin and Shipman & Goodwin. Mahoney then transitioned to the insurance industry where he assumed greater levels of responsibility in personal and commercial lines claims within The Hartford Financial Services Group. Most recently, he spent the last ten years in a variety of claim leadership positions at Zurich North America.
AIG Names John P. Repko Executive Vice President, Chief Information Officer
American International Group announced that John P. Repko will join the company as executive vice president, chief information officer, effective September 4, 2018. He succeeds Martha Gallo, who is leaving AIG to pursue other interests.
Repko will report to Brian Duperreault, AIG president and chief executive officer, and serve as a member of AIG’s Executive Leadership Team. He will be responsible for AIG’s global technology strategy, overseeing core shared infrastructure, technology partnerships and process engineering efforts. He will work closely with AIG’s leaders in support of technology-enabled cross-business collaboration to meet the changing needs of the company’s global clients.
Repko is joining AIG from Johnson Controls (JCI), where he served as the global chief information officer since 2016, taking up this position with the merger of JCI and Tyco. He previously served as senior vice president, chief information officer and enterprise transformation leader at Tyco from 2012, a role that included responsibility for IT, process, shared services and transformation. He also held chief information officer roles at Covance Inc., SES Global and General Electric’s GE Americom division.
Farmers Taps Former Westfield Insurance IT Executive as New Chief Information Officer
Farmers Insurance named Paul Wilson, an insurance and IT professional with nearly 30 years of insurance knowledge and leadership experience, its new chief information officer effective August 30, 2018.
In his role at Farmers, Wilson will serve as a member of the insurer group’s senior leadership team and oversee the development and application of all strategic IT initiatives.
Wilson joins Farmers from Westfield Insurance, where he served as Group IT Leader and Chief Information Officer. Prior to Westfield, Wilson was with Progressive Casualty Insurance for nearly 28 years, serving in a variety of technology and business-related roles, most recently as a key IT applications executive leading Claims, Personal Lines, Commercial Lines and Corporate IT functions.
