Geomni Forms Strategic Alliance With DroneBase
Geomni, a Verisk business, and DroneBase, a global drone operations company, announced a strategic alliance that adds DroneBase’s Pilot Network and API to Geomni’s fleet of fixed-wing aircraft to expand property inspections globally.
Geomni customers are able to order a roof or property data packages that include the most up-to-date property condition via drone imagery. Upon ordering a Geomni UAV Inspection, DroneBase’s API is alerted, and a local pilot trained to capture the aerial imagery for insurance work is deployed. Once the pilot returns the imagery, Geomni converts the imagery — in as little as 48 hours — into useable property that gets sent to some of the most widely used insurance applications, such as Xactimate, Xactware’s industry-leading estimating platform. Xactware is also a Verisk business.
During last year’s hurricane season, both Geomni and DroneBase assisted in post-catastrophe recovery. Geomni provided aerial imagery and measurements for many of the top tier insurance carriers in Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico, while DroneBase completed hundreds of missions in those same areas after Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria.
Beyond insurance claims, this alliance can also be leveraged for other commercial applications such as parking lot imagery capture and mapping. The alliance between Geomni and DroneBase is available today through www.geomni.net.
Betterview Adds Building Permit Information to its Property Data and Analytics Platform
Betterview announced it has added building permit information to Property Profile. This information is now available for commercial and residential buildings throughout the United States.
Betterview’s Property Profile combines traditional data sources like building permits, along with new data sources generated by AI, to provide insights into the inside and outside of commercial and residential buildings and properties. P&C insurers can now assess roof condition, roof characteristics, and property hazards quickly and easily.
Property Profile’s risk scoring is based on proprietary data and algorithms developed through extensive property inspection experience and customer feedback. Users will be able to scroll down and view permit information, including history and timeline, roof updates, yearly fire inspections, plumbing & electrical updates.
Roof scores, roof characteristics, and property information may be accessed via API or through Betterview’s platform by typing in an address or uploading an Excel spreadsheet or CSV file.
For a limited time, Betterview is offering a complimentary proof of concept program that includes ROI analysis and an implementation guide, which provides specific recommendations users may take based off of their results. For more information, contact Paul Ptashnick at paul@betterview.net
Property Damage Appraisers Expands Same-Day Service to More Than 150 Cities
Property Damage Appraisers (PDA), a national independent damage appraisal firm, has expanded its guaranteed same-day and next-day damage estimates to more than 150 cities across the U.S. The service, which offers expedited damage estimates for standard auto claims, was launched in August to 11 pilot markets.
PDA developed the new expedited service levels to help its clients deliver outstanding service to their customers by processing claims faster. Clients can choose Same-Day or Next-Day Service when assigning a claim with the company and on-time delivery is guaranteed.
Same-Day Service guarantees a completed damage estimate by the end of the day it’s assigned, while Next-Day Service guarantees an estimate by the end of the next business day. PDA is the first independent appraisal company to offer Same-Day Service. The product is the result of a multi-year effort to improve efficiencies and reduce the time it takes to deliver damage estimates across the company’s national team of more than 650 local appraisers.
After assigning a claim to PDA, clients will be notified if it’s eligible for Same-Day or Next-Day Service. Then, they have the option to select an expedited service level. Same-Day Service is available at a rate which includes the estimate, as well as any supplements and total losses.
When a Same-Day or Next-Day Service claim is assigned, PDA’s proprietary Optimizer tool analyzes the claim data to dispatch the closest qualified appraiser to the damaged vehicle.
More information about PDA’s Same-Day and Next-Day Service is available at www.pdacorporation.com/same-day.php.
