Personnel Announcements: Maltman International, Transcom Solutions, Orchid Medical
Maltman International, a claims management provider based in Toronto, has appointed Brian McCulloch as executive general adjuster.
McCulloch has been active in the Canadian market for 40 years, with experience on the carrier side in adjusting, supervision, management and as a professional liability adjuster since 1990, the company said in a press release.
He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Waterloo and obtained a law degree from the University of Ottawa. He was admitted to the Bar of Ontario in April 1976 and continues to be a Notary Public and Commissioner for Oaths.
McCulloch’s practice includes handling a multitude of Professional Liability claims including lawyers errors and omissions, title insurance claims and complex commercial general liability claims, Maltman said.
Maltman International is a division of CRU Group, a United Kingdom company,primarily known for its business intelligence services in mining and metals, that has been expanding its claims adjusting operations in the United States.
Transcom Solutions, a national transportation and translation company for the workers’ compensation industry based in Tampa, Florida, announced that it promoted Ryan Bechtold to executive vice president.
Bechtold has served as Transcom Solutions’ director of operations and a managing partner since 2015, overseeing the daily operations of the Tampa, Florida-based company, including the finance department.
Most recently, Bechtold was a sales engineer for Southern States Machinery, where he sold high-end fabrication equipment. Prior to that, he owned and operated a metal fabrication shop in central Florida for 15 years, where he managed the company’s day-to-day operations and a staff of 25. At the time Ryan left, the company exceeded $3 million in sales, Transcom said.
Transcom said it provides translation, transportation and concierge services for injured workers through a network of more than 5,000 credentialed providers.
Orchid Medical, a medical-management provider to the workers’ compensation industry based in Orlando, Florida, announced that Chief Executive Officer Brian L. Carwile is now chairman of the company’s board of directors. Chief Operating Officer Paul Taylor replaced him as president and CEO.
David Anderson, Orchid’s vice president of operations, has been promoted to replace Taylor as COO, the company said.
Carwile founded Orchid Medical in 2002 and has served as president and CEO since inception. The company started out as a supplier of durable medical equipment but expanded into cost-containment and ancillary services. Orchid said it now employs 100 people and serves 200 clients.
“My decision to pass the baton to Paul signifies my great faith in his ability to lead and inspire the next chapter of Orchid’s growth,” Carwile said in a prepared statement.
Taylor has served as COO for the past 12 years, the company said. Prior to joining Orchid, he founded a workers’ compensation surveillance and investigations company, The Intel Group/Hyperion Risk and served as the executive vice president until it was purchased in 2006.
Anderson joined Orchid in 2007 as vice president of operations leading day-to-day operations and quality assurance. Prior to Orchid, he was vice president of operations and special investigations at Hyperion Risk and Global Options.
