Business News: Crawford & Co., One Inc., Carpe Data
Frontline Insurance has named Crawford & Co. as its exclusive provider for catastrophe claims, the Atlanta-based third-party administrator said in a press release.
Frontline serves residential and commercial property owners in Florida, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. The carrier, based in Lake Mary, Florida, specializes in coverage for primary, secondary, seasonal, and commercial property owners.
Crawford said its Catastrophe Services department has managed global and domestic disasters for more than 50 years.
“We know that Crawford has the experience, knowledge and resources to ensure our customers receive unmatched quality and rapid response,” stated Westley McCall, Frontline’s chief innovation officer.
Gainsco Auto Insurance has selected One Inc. digital payments platform, ClaimsPay, to modernize its outbound payment capabilities, One Inc. said in a press release.
“This technology should remove some of the hassle and speed up the claim settlement process,” stated Greg Castlmean, chief claims officer for Dallas-based Gainesco. “That is a win for everyone involved.”
One Inc., based in Folsom, California, provides claims payment software to the insurance industry. The ClaimsPay product integrates directly into existing claims management systems through the use of configurable, branded, or white-labeled portals, the company said.
ClaimsPay allows digital approvals, making it easier for multiple parties to approve a claim, and for claimants to get paid quickly, the company said. One Inc. will also handle Gainsco’s vendor payments through ClaimsPay.
Carpe Data announced the launch of a ClaimsX, a data-as-a-service “claims decisioning” software.
The tech company, based in Santa Barbara, California, said ClaimsX uses data analytics and artificial intelligence to collect social, web, and publicly available data from unstructured sources to support automated claims decision making and provide monitoring capabilities for property and casualty insurers. The system enables rapid resolution of low-risk claims, the company said.
Carpe Data said ClaimsX provides access to actionable information, such as claimant email and phone intelligence, employment and web presence, and vehicle information, including sales and aftermarket add-ons. The system allows insurers to follow injury claims, confirm loss facts and identify possible exaggeration or fraud. ClaimsX can also be useful in other lines, such as auto physical damage and property, to help track high-value property items and potential recovery opportunities, the company said.
“The core premise of Carpe Data is to build data products to unlock operational efficiency and drive automation,” stated Carpe Data Chief Executive Officer Max Drucker.
