HomeCare Connect, which provides in-home caregivers to injured workers, announced the launch of a free texting service to allow clients to communicate with care givers.
HomeCare Connect said that during its initial contact with injured workers, it asks if clients prefer to communicate via text or phone calls. The company said 72 percent choose texts.
The company said the service is available in both English and Spanish.
“Texting is convenient and fast,” said Managing Partner Vonesa Wenzel in a prepared statement. “People tend to send calls from unknown numbers to voicemail and end up playing phone tag with the clinical care coordinator.”
HomeCare Connect developed its TextConnect technology internally, integrating it into its proprietary, CareLink platform that drives home health management services in workers’ compensation. Care coordinators text to check in with injured workers and answer their questions, and CareLink automatically texts injured workers regarding nursing visits, durable medical equipment deliveries, and updates on home modification and prosthetics, the company said.
The company, based in Winter Park, Florida, operates a network of 18,000 care providers.
Home telematics provider Roost announced that Grange Insurance Association is distributing its smart sensor products to select policyholders in Idaho.
The partnership is intended to mitigate water leak claims costs and enable digital engagement with home policyholders, Roost said. Qualifying policyholders will be offered the Roost Smart Water Leak and Freeze Detectors. Policyholders will be able to access enhanced Roost services such as severe weather alerts and access to service professionals.
Roost is a technology company based in Sunnyvale, California. Grange Insurance, headquartered in Seattle, is a mutual insurance company with policyholders in California, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming.
Consolidated Claims Group Holdings is changing its name to CCG IQ as part of a “major rebranding effort.”
The company said in a press release that “the changes reflect the company’s continued evolution and expansion into a full-service partner that empowers insurance carriers to make faster, smarter, and better decisions throughout the policy life cycle.”
The CCG IQ group of companies, based in Charlotte, N.C. includes HVACi, StrikeCheck, JMI Reports, UIS Group, and Cox & Smith.
“The decision to embark on this rebrand was made to better emphasize our core values to our clients, driven by our technology, our people, and our dedication to providing innovative solutions,” stated CEO Damon Stafford.
