Claims People: Claims Central, Provencher, Omega Engineering and Goldberg Segalla
Two former executives for WeGoLook, an automated claims system now owned by Crawford & Co., have joined Claim Central Consolidated.
The digital claims company, based in Jacksonville, Fla., appointed Robin Roberson and Kenneth Kroll as managing directors.
Roberson and Kroll are co-founders of WeGoLook, a smartphone app that is used to take photographs of property damage, saving the expense of dispatching an adjuster to make a field investigation. Roberson was chief executive officer of the company, which started out as a platform that allowed consumers to visually inspect major purchases, such as classic cars. Crawford & Co. bought a majority share of the company in 2017 and uses the technology for virtual claim inspections.
Roberson more recently was co-founder and president of Goose & Gander, a boutique consultancy firm, and partner at BuildArray, a risk management and operations platform, Claims Central said in a press release.
Knoll is the former CEO and co-founder of Goose & Gander and managing partner at BuildArray. He was previously the chief operating officer of WeGoLook where he led market strategy, product innovation, and international expansion.
Knoll forged industry partnerships with Guidewire, Duck Creek, CCC One, Symbility, Xactware, and others to bring on-demand and virtual inspection solutions to insurance customers, Claim Central said in a press release.
The company’s ClaimLogik produce provides virtual inspections as a service using live-streaming tools and self-managed repairs through the TradesPlus contractor network.
Additionally, distribution channel and risk management expert John Wright and finance and investment executive Paul Yau are joining Claim Central’s U.S. management team as senior advisors effective immediately, the company said.
Provencher & Co., which provides claims adjusting and independent expert services, has appointed Jeff Meserve as client manager.
Meserve will help improve partnerships through the evaluation of business opportunities, industry dynamics, emerging technologies, and business challenges in the market structure, the company said. He will also help devise strategies to maximize client service offerings.
Meserve was previously was a regional salesperson for WildcoPES, a compliance testing company, according to his Linkedin page. He also worked in retail sales for Jones & Frank, commercial sales for Wind River Environmental and conducted market research for RSM.
Meserve resides in Columbia, Conn. and will primarily support clients in the Northeast region, the company said. Provencher is headquartered in Hammond, La. but serves clients nationally.
The Goldberg Segalla law firm has hired Nathan R. Young for its Global Insurance Services group in Greensboro, N.C.
Young was previously with Comerford, Chilson & Moser LLP in Winston-Salem.
Young focuses his practice on counseling and defending insurers in coverage litigation arising under a variety of policies, the law firm said in a press release. He has a broad civil litigation background and assists with all areas of claims handling and litigation, including preparing cases for filing; drafting complaints and written discovery; conducting legal research in preparation for motion hearings; and participating in depositions, hearings, and mediations.
Young earned his Juris Doctor at Wake Forest University School of Law, where he gained experience through placements in private practice and in the Forsyth County District Attorney’s office and participated in the Elder Law Clinic and Litigation Clinic. He earned a B.A. in History at Auburn University, graduating summa cum laude.
The addition of Young in Greensboro follows the arrival of partner Bryana L. Blessinger, who will be based in Portland, and working with the firm’s insurance coverage teams in Chicago and Los Angeles.
Omega Forensic Engineering has hired Gregory D. Loomis to staff its first office in Orlando.
The company said in a press release that it has conducted inspections in Central Florida for years, but Loomis’ appointment marks the first time it has had an office in the area. The company is headquartered in Parkland, Fla.
Omega said Loomis has worked for the company for 10 years. He has extensive knowledge and practical experience in the evaluation of construction defects and forensic engineering investigations, including evaluation of damage caused by hurricanes, settlement, construction vibration and water damage, the company said.
Loomis is a graduate of the University of Kansas with a bachelor of science in architectural engineering. He was previously a project engineer for Bryntesen Structural Engineers, a consultant for Rimkus Consulting Group and a design engineer for GHA Consulting Engineers, according to Omega’s website.
