Claims People: Lloyd’s, Provencher and Paul Davis
Lloyd’s of London has appointed Carey Bond as U.S. head of claims, a newly created role.
Bond will collaborate with London brokers and underwriters on the design and delivery of claim solutions for policyholders in the United States, which is Lloyd’s largest market.
Carey has two decades of claims management experience, the syndicate said in a press release. He previously was claims team leader for Canal Insurance Co. Prior to that, her served as director of claims at Access Corporate Services and as corporate auto property damage manager at American Independent Cos.
Earlier, Carey was a regional director at Nationwide Insurance and a second vice president of claims at Travelers.
Carey is a graduate of the University of Tennessee. He served in the U.S. Army as a senior military advisor in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom and in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom, leaving the reserves with the rank of lieutenant colonel in 2011.
Carey reports to Hank Watkins, regional director and president of Lloyd’s Americas, and Phil Godwin, head of claims for Lloyd’s in London. He will be based in Greenville, S.C.
Provencher & Co. has appointed Jerry Clark as a supervising examiner. He will oversee assigned accountswhile promoting consistent quality and accurate service reporting, the Hammond, La.-based company said in a press release.
Clark has more than 30 years experience handling both business and personal claims, Provencher said. He is a recognized expert in the area of subrogation and has experience in large loss protocols, litigation management, bodily injury, contractors pollution liability, tort, product liability, environmental, errors and errors and omissions liability, Provencher said.
Clark has a bachelor of science degree in business administration and economics from Indiana State University. His central office will be located in Provencher’s Northeast region.
Paul Davis Restoration has appointed Courtney Makris as vice president of business development.
Based in the company’s Jacksonville, Fla. headquarters, she will oversee partnerships with insurers, reporting to Senior Vice President of Business Development Brad Cowan.
Makris previously was vice president of sales and account management for Enservio, where she was responsible for sales of the company’s software services products for contents inventory and valuation.
Prior to that, Makris gained experience in property claims mitigation and restoration at CodeBlue, an emergency communications provider. She has presented at the Property and Liability Resource Bureau’s Claims Conference, the Property Innovation Summit and Global Young Leaders Conference.
